Recently, the question of covid vaccination among the country's politicians has become relevant, after Member of Parliament Anders W Jonsson (C) in an interview with DN wanted to see a review of the coverage rate in the Riksdag - and after Prime Minister Stefan Löfven in a DN interview directed strong criticism of unvaccinated SD politicians.

SVT Nyheter Blekinge has investigated how the county's regional politicians themselves have responded to covid vaccination.

In a survey that went out to the regional council's 56 regular members, 54 responded.

Of these, three state that they have not yet been vaccinated.

One of them is the Sweden Democrats' group leader in the region, Björn T Nurhadi, who says that he has antibodies against the virus.

- I have full protection, perhaps more than what the vaccine provides.

And then it is irresponsible to get vaccinated just for the sake of vaccination, he says.

The other SD member also states that he has antibodies against the virus and therefore does not need to be vaccinated at the moment.

"Follows the research"

In the Social Democrats, it is the member, also the opposition council in Sölvesborg, Johanna Beijer who has given up the vaccine.

She does not want to stand for an interview on the issue, but says that she "follows the research in the field" and has not yet decided whether she wants to get vaccinated or not.

- It is up to everyone whether they want to be vaccinated or not and there must never be a witch hunt on those who have not been vaccinated.

Then I want to be able to choose which vaccine I vaccinate myself with, and that is not possible in Blekinge today, says Björn T Nurhadi (SD).

Footnote: The unvaccinated SD member has been anonymised as he does not play as prominent a political role as Nurhadi and Beijer.

An SD member has actively chosen not to respond to the survey, and an S member has not been reached despite repeated attempts.
