23 October 2021 The demonstrations against the Green pass are back on the last Saturday before the summit of the heads of state and government of the G20 scheduled for 30 and 31 October in Rome. An armored summit that will see thousands of police and army men on the field and the entire area where the meetings will be held transformed into a red zone, to guarantee a maximum security bubble. The capital, after the tensions in the streets and the assault on the CGIL two weeks ago, will once again be at the center of the protests in the next few hours.

Two authorized demonstrations, both in the Circus Maximus area: one organized by the 'Free Citizens' movement, the same movement of which Pamela Testa belongs, arrested after the clashes on 9 October; the other with the participation, among others, of the actor Enrico Montesano and the ex grillina Sara Cunial.

Two appointments, repeated by the police, about which there seem to be no particular fears and in which a thousand people should participate.

However, given what happened two weeks ago, with a clear underestimation of the numbers in the square and a prevention device that did not work, the presence of the police will still be massive. As it was in Trieste despite the cancellation of the procession by the organizers for fear that it could be exploited by those who aimed to transform the square into a battleground. About

thirty Trieste dockers arrived in piazza Unità: together to the demonstrators they sing "people like us never give up". At 9 am a delegation from the 15 October Coordination, which manages the no Green pass protest in the city, met the Minister for Agricultural Policies, Stefano Patuanelli.

On the dozens of Telegram chats on which the protest travels and where appeals begin to multiply to go to Rome next Saturday, to make the voice of "free citizens" heard. A rumor that worries security and intelligence apparatuses - even if at the moment there are no indications of possible arrivals of demonstrators from abroad - if only because it could be the perfect opportunity for those who want to infiltrate a full square with the aim to raise the tension and gain visibility.

"A very busy period awaits us", interior minister Luciana Lamorgese reiterated in parliament, reporting on the clashes in Rome.

A fibrillation which, according to the analysis of the commander of the Easter Rosary Angelosanto, "must be carefully monitored" since the extremist right-wing groups on the one hand and the anarcho-insurrectionist fringes on the other "contend for the exploitation of the protest to bring it towards a violent drift ". for weeks, therefore, work has been carried out on the safety device for the summit.

The first point is that the entire G20 area will be the red zone: the cloud and the congress center at EUR will be armored and can only be accessed with an identification badge. the circulation of any private vehicle and surveillance from above of all the airspace of the capital with the anti-drone system of the defense is also prohibited.

About two thousand men will guarantee the safety of the summit - the final numbers will be decided in the provincial safety committee scheduled for next week - including bomb squads, sharpshooters, escort personnel, dog units and crime prevention departments, in addition of course to the men of the public order departments.

A device that will also have to take into account the movements in the city of the delegations from the headquarters of the summit to the respective embassies and to which about 500 soldiers will be added who will implement the contingent of safe roads and the surveillance of sensitive targets.

The other crucial point, Lamorgese said clearly in parliament, admitting the mistakes made, is that there should not be an encore on 9 October: "The security deficit must never repeat itself". which translated means maximum attention to prevention, strengthening of all monitoring activities for sites, chats and social networks as well as the most at-risk environments, intensification of territorial control devices, with particular attention to stations, airports and road and motorway junctions . Measures to which another one will be added: no demonstrations will be allowed in the city center.

"You cannot in any way let your guard down" said the owner of the Interior Ministry, reiterating what will be the line of the police force: guaranteeing the balance between the right to express one's dissent and that of protecting the rights of all others and ensure safety.
