A few weeks ago, Elsa got a phone call where a man told her that someone was trying to take out a loan through her account.

He said she needed to give out her bank code so he could help her so she would not lose money.

- I was completely put.

I do not usually go on things like this but I ended up in the middle of his claws, I was so upset, Elsa tells SVT.

In the clip above, you hear Bengt tell his feelings after the fraud that took away the couple's life savings.

The account was empty

Immediately after the phone call was over, Elsa talked to her husband Bengt.

He then suspected that something was wrong and logged in to the bank to be met by an empty account.

- They had first emptied Elsa's account and then managed to transfer my money and withdraw it through her account.

It was SEK 95,000 in total that we got rid of, all our life savings.

No help from the bank

The couple was quick to contact the bank, insurance company and the police immediately after the incident.

But the messages from banks and insurance companies were clear, they could do nothing.

The explanation the couple received is that they themselves are responsible for the incident because they have identified themselves to an unknown person and thus given a kind of approval.
