In particular, the published text mentions the "interference" of Moscow and Beijing in the "democratic processes" in foreign states.

The European Parliament referred to data according to which, over the past decade, the Russian and Chinese sides, as well as "other authoritarian regimes", allegedly sent more than $ 300 million for the corresponding purposes.

In addition, the draft resolution notes that Russia and China are making attempts to expand their spheres of influence abroad.

Such activities can be carried out through cultural, educational centers and religious institutions, according to the EP.

We are talking about the "Russian influence" on the Orthodox churches in Europe (in particular, in Serbia and Montenegro), the Kremlin's efforts to pursue a policy towards compatriots in the Baltic countries, as well as the concept of the Russian world, allegedly aimed at "justifying the expansionist actions of the regime ".

The text says, among other things, that Moscow and Beijing are spreading "propaganda" abroad.

"The European Parliament is concerned about the spread of foreign state propaganda ... such as content from RT, Sputnik or the media sponsored by the Chinese Communist Party," the draft resolution states.

Taking into account the examples given in the document, the EP proposes to counteract the existing, in the opinion of the authors of the report, challenges in various ways.

Over the years, the Russian authorities have consistently emphasized that Moscow does not interfere in the affairs of other countries.

In particular, Russian leader Vladimir Putin made such a statement earlier.

“We, unlike many of our partners, never interfere in the internal political processes of other countries.

This is one of the principles of our work, ”the President said.

The Chinese authorities have repeatedly made similar statements.

Thus, according to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Beijing shows absolute respect for the choices that other countries make.

“We have never interfered in anyone’s internal political affairs - in this regard, our actions are clear and transparent, we have nothing to reproach ourselves with,” he said.
