According to the Climate Act, climate policy work must be based on science.

So what do researchers who have calculated the emission target say?

How has it been for Sweden so far and in which areas are further measures needed?

Based on the researchers' conclusions, we want to ask the eight parliamentary parties what they want to do to achieve the goals of sharply reduced emissions.

The Sweden Democrats, who have not supported the Riksdag's climate goals, will also have the opportunity to present their views.

The nine researchers participating in the program are some of the country's most important scientific experts in a number of important research fields for the climate.

Several of them also have solid experience of calculating the effects of various policy instruments aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The participating researchers have a long and solid academic background and are active at the country's heaviest universities, colleges or research institutes.

For the greatest possible transparency about their mission and commitment, we list the researchers' background here (link).

The purpose of the hearing is to look ahead and ask the parties what strategies they have for achieving the goal they have set themselves.

The program is divided into four topics: in the first hour transport and industry / gadgets, in the second hour electricity and food.

To go deeper into each topic, only four politicians participate per question.

The parties are combined on the basis that there should be as many different perspectives as possible on each subject and that each party should be represented in each full hour.
