The countdown has started for the restitution by France of the 26 works of art in Benin.

According to Jean-Michel Abimbola, the Minister of Culture of Benin, the act of transfer of works should be signed in Paris on November 9, 2021 in the presence of Presidents Emmanuel Macron and Patrice Talon.

The return of the pieces to Cotonou would take place immediately.

Regarding the signing of the deed of transfer, we have a window between November 8 and November 10.

And in all probability, it will be November 9 at the Élysée.

This information gives me relative satisfaction, because we have just taken a decisive historic step, but this is only the beginning of this cooperation that the government of Benin and its president wanted to have with the French side.
