Expo .. The Moroccan Pavilion receives its visitors "in the middle of the house" and in the old streets

Those who want to escape from the landmarks of modern civilization, its noise, and its pollution, can dive on a journey mixed with the fragrance of originality and heritage, in the Moroccan pavilion, at Expo 2020 Dubai, as it gathers guests and families in an atmosphere of intimacy and love.

The pavilion is designed in the form of a slope that simulates the streets of ancient Moroccan cities, and the courtyard (the center of the house), where the visitor begins his journey from the top floor down through the streets, to go through different experiences, and see an important aspect of Moroccan culture.

According to the pavilion's architect, Tarek Oualalou, the building was established in this way to introduce Morocco, its natural and cultural heritage and heritage, and its unique experiences and talents, which promise a better future.

He pointed out that "Morocco is based on the ability to rebuild and innovate, and to engage in a lasting and sustainable vision," and that it is "a land rich in talent and opportunities, and a source of inspiration."

He emphasized the adoption of the designs of the Moroccan pavilion, which extends over an area of ​​​​up to 3,500 square meters, on the ancient traditions of Moroccan architecture, in order to highlight the qualifications that abound in it in various fields, especially the traditions of earthen construction, the “courtyard in the middle of the house” and the streets of ancient Moroccan cities. While evoking the values ​​of the 21st century and its new technologies in the field of sustainability, clean energy, and reducing environmental damage, referring to the design of the exterior of the pavilion to be composed of a 33-meter-high floor facade, a traditional Moroccan building technique that enhances and softens the interior conditions, and makes it comfortable in hot and humid places The interior is made of wood panels that act as sunscreens.

He continued, "The Moroccan pavilion is distinguished by unlimited innovation and inspiration, as it was able to embody its main slogan, which is (the heritage of the future from inspirational assets to sustainable development), which allows visitors to the international exhibition the opportunity to discover and rediscover Morocco, its history and identity, its material achievements and its vision for the future."

A visit to the Moroccan pavilion provides access to 13 halls spread over seven floors, each of which offers a unique and inspiring educational, artistic and entertainment experience that addresses the body and soul together, in addition to a hall for lectures and seminars, places for bilateral meetings, a fine restaurant, and a space for VIPs.

The pavilion's architect confirmed that the Moroccan pavilion is one of the few buildings that will not be dismantled after the expo.

He added that the pavilion works to reduce the number of air-conditioned spaces to a minimum, by using passive climate control strategies, such as thickening of the earthen walls, multiple vertical gardens, and the presence of a large central courtyard to naturally ventilate and cool the building.
