Anastasia Rakova, vice-mayor and head of the operational headquarters for control and monitoring of the situation with coronavirus in Moscow, told what the city authorities expect from the non-working days announced as part of the fight against coronavirus infection COVID-19.

She noted that, according to epidemiologists, the incubation period of the strain "delta" coronavirus is up to five days, so the separation of contacts for 11 days will cover two such periods.

Moreover, the incidence rate is 80% higher than last year.

At the same time, less than 3.4 million Muscovites have stable vaccination immunity.

“I understand that any restrictions cannot cause joy, but, unfortunately, the aggravated situation leaves us no other choice.

None of the decisions over these one and a half years have been simple, but all steps are being taken in the interests of Muscovites to return to a normal lifestyle as soon as possible, as possible in a pandemic, ”the deputy mayor said.

For this period, it is also prohibited to hold mass cultural, entertainment, sports, advertising, entertainment and other events, and vacations in schools and kindergartens are also announced.

Later, Sobyanin said that during non-working days, medical organizations will continue to provide routine medical care.
