A dramatic road accident occurred this Thursday morning in the northeast of the Loire-Atlantique department, on the border of Maine-et-Loire.

At around 7:15 am, a car and a heavy goods vehicle collided near the town of Pin, report the firefighters of the departmental fire and rescue service.

Two men, aged 36 and 51, have died.

These would be the driver of the car and a passenger.

Also present in this vehicle, a 35-year-old woman was transported by helicopter in serious condition to the Nantes University Hospital.

The driver of the truck, who managed to get out of his cabin on his own, was slightly injured and taken to Châteaubriant hospital.

About twenty firefighters were mobilized in this violent accident, which caused traffic disruptions on the RD 163, partly blocked.

An investigation was opened by the gendarmerie.
