According to reports, the rocket was launched at about 5 pm local time on the 21st.

However, South Korea’s Minister of Science and Technology Lin Hye-sook later stated that the launch mission failed because the rocket’s third-stage engine stopped burning 46 seconds earlier.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in watched the launch. Although he said that the "World" successfully entered the 700-kilometer orbit, it was of profound significance.

But he also said that the mission failed to fully achieve the goal, and said that "the satellite model entering the normal orbit has become an unfinished subject."

The "World" is the first rocket developed entirely using Korean technology. The entire project took 11 years and the total investment was nearly 2 trillion won.
