“The leaders of the country came, relying on the voters of the southeast, and then almost immediately changed their political positions in the opposite direction,” Putin said.

According to him, "the silent majority voted in the hope of carrying out pre-election communications, but the silent aggressive nationalist minority suppressed all freedom of making decisions expected by the Ukrainian population."

The President stressed that it is these people who are in charge of the country at the present time.

The Russian leader called this situation a dead end. 

Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that in relations with Ukraine there is no other way out but waiting for a new leadership there.
