South Korea's defense minister acknowledged that SLBM development was in its infancy, as North Korea announced this week that it had successfully launched a submarine-launched ballistic missile.

According to South Korean troops, North Korea launched a missile presumed to be SLBM off the eastern symposium on the 19th of this month, and North Korea announced that it had successfully launched a new SLBM from a submarine.

Regarding this, South Korea's Defense Minister Seo Wook pointed out on the 21st that it is necessary to include not only missiles but also submarines, which are considered to be platforms, in order to judge the development status of SLBM at the parliamentary committee.

He also acknowledged that the development of North Korea's SLBM is in the early stages, saying, "I think it is in the early stages now."

Defense Minister Soviet Union also said that the missile launched might be a smaller SLBM that appeared at North Korea's weapons exhibition this month.

He said the missile was a new threat, but "we have determined that interception is possible."
