After Sweden opened up for more people to be able to return to work, collective travel has gained momentum.

So much so that Västtrafik's travel app ToGo crashed - three days in a row.

- We see a change in behavior in recent days where people go back to work in the offices.

And that has led to our IT system being overloaded, says Thom Birkeland, IT manager at Västtrafik.

No forecast

When the system becomes overloaded, a so-called "disruption ticket" is activated where all tickets will be free in the entire region for 30 minutes.

According to Thom Birkeland, they are now working on trying to fix the system by adding more computing power, making software updates and doing system maintenance.

When the system will be able to handle the increased amount of ticket purchases, there is no forecast for.

How much do these disturbances cost Västtrafik?

-

I have no overview of that.

Right now we have full focus on solving the technology, says Thom Birkeland.
