On October 11, it became clear for children in the age group 12-15 to take the vaccine against covid-19, as the youngest so far to take the syringe.

This requires the consent of the guardians.

- Mom was a little hesitant at first, but then she agreed.

I wanted to take it, says 12-year-old Erik Törnkvist who goes to the independent school Svettpärlan in Karlskrona.

The school has students from grades 1-9.

Of the 106 students who were offered the vaccine, 93 refused.

- So we have almost 94 percent coverage among high school students here and that's great.

Here, as with everything else, it is important to submit a consent and health declaration, says school nurse Anett Berggren.

Thousands of children ready

The Blekinge region begins to vaccinate children in this age group for weeks.

This is already happening in two of the municipalities, but out of respect for the children, the region does not want to say where and when.

There are a total of 7,300 children in the age group 12–15 in Blekinge and so far the Blekinge Region has received approximately 3,300 consents.
