21 October 2021 The police cleared the no Green pass garrison at the Ethiopia crossing of the port of Genoa. The operation took place peacefully, on the seventh day of protest. At the time of the intervention, there were about thirty people at the garrison. At the gate, to keep the protest alive even during the night, a real base camp was set up with tents and campers to sleep in, a kitchen and a galley.

During the evacuation there was a moment of tension when some demonstrators tried to stop a truck entering the port. A particularly agitated Frenchman was stopped by policemen on charges of resistance and taken to the police station. Few people remained at the gate, others recovered all the food from the garrison to send it to the soup kitchens and aid

centers. The protest at the crossing in Ethiopia had become above all symbolic, because for days the garrison had not created inconvenience to the operation of the port, if not some slowdown in the transit of trucks with drivers who were invited to a short stop to take a coffee with the demonstrators and eat a piece of focaccia.

On Monday morning the demonstrators had also received the solidarity of two border police officers, who, undivided and with the service car, had brought them focaccia and sweets, receiving hugs and applause.

During the days of the protest with garrisons and roadblocks and at port gates, including the one in front of the Psa di Prà terminal, the largest in the port of Genoa, the port has always maintained operations.

The number of demonstrators had decreased, from about a thousand in the first two days, yesterday it had dropped to a hundred, but those who protest against the certificate to be able to work had announced that they wanted to carry on the garrison at least for the whole week.
