A 26-year-old man was sentenced by the Versailles court (Yvelines) on Tuesday for harassing his ex-girlfriend and sending her death threats, reports 78actu.

The couple separated in early July.

The man did not accept the break-up and began to multiply the calls and messages.

Thousands of SMS

The police noted more than 1,700 phone calls and 5,800 text messages, including numerous threats of death, rape, or incineration of his vehicle.

The defendant had created a fake account on social networks to spy on his ex.

He went so far as to send intimate photos of the young woman to his own family, reports the website.

He was spying on her and even forced his way into her home to see if she was with a man.

At the bar, the defendant justified his behavior by his "hyperactivity".

A testimony "of great arrogance" and without excuses, said the prosecutor.

The young man was sentenced to six months in prison under the semi-liberty regime, and six additional months, the organization of which will fall to the judge responsible for the execution of sentences.
