Madame Tussauds opened its first branch in the Arab world.
Since Thursday, the famous wax museum has a location in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), a wealthy Gulf emirate and host of the 2020 Universal Exhibition.
"We are expecting many local and international visitors," Sanaz Kollsrud, Managing Director of Madame Tussauds Dubai, said on Monday.
Since the opening of the first museum in London almost two centuries ago, millions of people have visited the various establishments open in the United States, Europe and Asia.

A very touristy emirate
“We have chosen the talents that are important and popular in the region,” added the director.
The museum hosts some 60 wax statues of world stars such as Rihanna or Lionel Messi.
About fifteen statues represent stars from the Middle East, such as Lebanese pop singers Nancy Ajram and Maya Diab.
Poor in oil, Dubai has diversified its economy by focusing on tourism and the entertainment industry.
Known for its gigantic skyscrapers and artificial islands, the emirate hopes to fill up with tourists with the Universal Exhibition organized over six months until March 31, 2022.
