  According to a report from the Ministry of Health of Cambodia on the 19th, 175 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia were reported in the country on the same day, 271 new cases were cured and discharged, and 11 new cases died.

Among the newly confirmed cases, 141 were community-transmitted infections and 34 were imported confirmed cases.

As of now, a total of 117,000 cases have been confirmed nationwide in Cambodia, a total of 111,000 cases have been cured, and a total of 2,681 cases have died.

  Hun Sen said that since the beginning of this year, China has provided Cambodia with a large number of new crown vaccines and provided many batches of emergency anti-epidemic material assistance, which has strongly supported the Cambodian government's anti-epidemic work.

As of October 18, the number of people vaccinated in Cambodia has increased to 13.6 million, accounting for 85% of the total population of 16 million.

Among them, 12.714 million people received the second dose and 1.48 million people received the third dose.

  Hun Sen emphasized that facts have proved that the new crown vaccine is safe and effective. The vaccine is the key to preventing deaths and hospitalizations caused by infectious diseases and has saved the lives of many Cambodians.

  Regarding the 11 new deaths reported on the same day, Hun Sen pointed out that according to the report of the competent authority, 8 of the 11 deaths were not vaccinated, and the others died from complications of the new crown.

Hun Sen was worried about the refusal of some people to receive the new crown vaccine, and said that "comrades who have not received the new crown vaccine, please hurry up and do not hesitate."

  Hun Sen said that the 5th to 7th of this month is the Dead’s Day holiday, and there is a large-scale population movement across the country. Originally worried about causing large-scale cross-infection, it has been 12 days since the holiday has ended. The national epidemic situation continues to be stable and there is no major outbreak.
