Searches were carried out on the water, because the house and school of Sofia are located near the river.

Also, dogs were used in the search - four canine crews were involved.

On October 18, volunteers were able to find Sofia's backpack and notebook.

They were lying on Gagarin Street - the opposite end of the city from the girl's house and school.

The dogs managed to take the trail, but soon it was cut off.

However, on the same street in one of the local shops, the girl was tracked on CCTV cameras.

She was with a grown woman who was shopping.

Soon Sofia's companion was identified, she turned out to be Ulyana Lanskaya, who lives nearby.

Operatives came to her apartment for a search.

There was no one at home, and the door had to be opened by the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

During the search, the body of the missing girl was found.

Soon the owner of the apartment was also detained, who tried to hide in another region.

According to 112, Lanskaya was detained virtually by accident.

She was on the St. Petersburg - Murmansk train and, according to preliminary data, tried to commit suicide.

In an unconscious state, she was taken to a hospital in the city of Belomorsk, where, thanks to the previously sent directions, she was identified.
