October 18, 2021 The United States will not participate in the meetings on Afghanistan scheduled in Moscow on October 19 and 20, in which the participation of China and Pakistan is expected.

State Department spokesman Ned Price said. "We will be happy to participate later, but we are not in a position to do so this week," he explained.

India moves

India does not want to give Pakistan a free rein on Afghanistan and is organizing a high-level conference on developments in Afghanistan in Delhi on 10 and 11 November. The news was reported by the Hindustan Times, citing documents filtered by the National Security Council, according to which representatives of Russia, China, Iran, Tajikistan and the 'enemy' Pakistan will also participate in the summit. According to the Hindustan Times, India aims to link the recognition of the Taliban to specific guarantees: fight against terrorism, formation of a government representative of all minorities and women's rights.

Delhi moves and sets its conditions, while Pakistan pushes for the international community to recognize the Taliban, but this time both countries share the fear of the expansion of Islamist terrorism in the region.

The representatives of the Indian government, who will see the Taliban also in Moscow this week, are making their moves by pointing to the fact that the Emirate and the Afghans do not seem to have any intention of being represented by the government of Islamabad.
