18 October 2021 Last Friday 15 October the obligation of the Green Pass came into force in the workplace. At 5 pm on October 18th, INPS received 152,780 sickness certificates, an increase of 14.6% compared to the 133,270 collected at the same time last Monday, October 11th. The Social Security Institute itself gave the news.

As for the first day of entry into force of the mandatory Green Pass, Friday 15 October, INPS reported an increase of 17,320 sick workers, 22.6% more than the day before. Compared to the 76,851 registered in the previous week, on Friday 15 October 94,191 employees were absent from work due to illness.

Specifically, looking at the public and private sectors, in the Public Administration, the increase in sickness certificates was + 18.3%, lower than the average but still high, surpassed by 'protected private' workers with + 21.1% of sickness certificates sent.

The increase was 10.5%, as regards workers classified by INPS as unprotected, who by law do not receive sick pay.

The data were commented on by family doctors. The national secretary of the Syndicate of Fimmg Family Doctors, Silvestro Scotti, who spoke to Radio Capital a couple of days ago, represented that: "One cannot compare this week's Friday with last Friday, when we were still in the summer. There was a week of rain and cold, a drop in temperatures of ten degrees and the first cases of flu. Considering the two days on the same level is not scientific ".

For the national secretary of family doctors, moreover, it must be borne in mind that "some of these sick workers may have been vaccinated in recent days - against the Coronavirus - and have developed mild side effects such as fever. There are too many variables to be able to to say that it was a circumvention of the Green Pass ".
