Expo Italy tells visitors the story of 40 Olympic medals

The Italian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai received sports stars who won medals during their participation in the Tokyo Olympics last summer, accompanied by technicians of their country's National Sports Federation, as part of a special tour to exchange their experiences with visitors to the international event.

The Italian Pavilion hosted an open dialogue with the medalists from the 40 Italian sports teams, which was considered a record at the Olympic Games in Japan last summer.

Marco Di Costanzo, the bronze medalist in the rowing competition, Abraham Conedo Ruano, the bronze medalist in the freestyle wrestling competition, and Giorgia Pordenion, the first Italian woman to win the silver medal in weightlifting, expressed their happiness to participate in the "Expo 2020 Dubai", stressing their happiness to participate in "Expo 2020 Dubai", stressing On the value of representing sport in this extraordinary event as a channel of cultural exchange, and as a tool of informal diplomacy.

Marco Di Costanzo, an Italian athlete who also won a bronze medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, said: “This is my first time in Dubai and I am very excited to see this beautiful place, and it is important for me to be here. I can introduce the new generation to modern sports, and teach them some techniques, as I started my sports career at the age of nine.”

The presence of Olympic sports stars from Italy is part of a series of activities co-organized by the Italian pavilion with the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) throughout the period of Expo 2020 Dubai.
