The ASEAN-Association of Southeast Asian Nations has decided not to invite to the summit next week, and the top of the Myanmar military said on the 18th that it will continue negotiations over the acceptance of the special envoy that is the cause of the conflict with ASEAN. The focus is on showing compromise.

As the situation in Myanmar deepens turmoil, ASEAN is sending a special envoy to mediate between the Myanmar army and the democratic forces who took control in the coup d'etat, but since the army is not cooperative, from the 26th It was decided not to invite the top of the Myanmar army, Commander Min Aung Hlaing, to the summit.

Regarding this, the commander said in a television speech on the 18th, "Some of the requests of the special envoy of ASEAN are unnegotiable," and the special envoy and Mr. Aung San Suu Kyi and others met. It was suggested that there was a gap between the positions.

He also complained about ASEAN's response, saying, "The worsening violence is brought about by the forces that resist the military, but no one wants to stop it."

On the other hand, the commander said, "Negotiations and discussions are still ongoing. We will do our best as a member of ASEAN."

As ASEAN, which is based on the principle of non-intervention in domestic affairs, takes an unusually strict response, the future focus will be on how much the Myanmar military will compromise.
