This "Encounter the Grand Canal-World Canal Exchange Art Project" brings together 50 outstanding works of art showing the theme of canals at home and abroad. Artists from cities along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and canal countries (cities) around the world use Chinese paintings, oil paintings, and sculptures. "Encounter the Grand Canal-World Canal Exchange Art Project" is sponsored by Beijing Tongzhou District Committee and District Government, and undertaken by the Publicity Department of Tongzhou District Committee and Xinguangda Center.
At the opening ceremony, Fan Di'an, President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, presented the collective creation of "Five Rivers" Canal-themed works to Tongzhou District on behalf of the artists.
