Hamdan bin Mohammed inaugurates GITEX Global 2021 with the participation of more than 3,500 exhibitors from 140 countries

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, inaugurated yesterday “GITEX Global and the World of Artificial Intelligence”, the most influential global event in the field of technology for the year 2021, as part of its 41st session at the Dubai World Trade Center.

His Highness stressed the importance of the timing of the large technical event of this size of participation, at a time when the exhibition and conference sector in Dubai continues to grow strongly after overcoming the repercussions of the “Covid-19” pandemic, and the start of a global recovery.

His Highness said: "Dubai reaffirms its commitment to support the vital sectors responsible for shaping the future, foremost of which is the technology sector. We continue to enhance levels of confidence, accelerate growth rates and stimulate innovation, while the world is preparing to launch strongly, leaving behind the consequences of a major crisis that affected its various sectors."

His Highness added: "We continue to work with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to consolidate Dubai's partnership with the world's leading institutions in the field of technology, as well as small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs, to discover more areas of cooperation and partnership. His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai toured GITEX, accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed and his companions were briefed on the highlights of the event, which includes for the first time six major events held in one location, namely: “GITEX Global”, “The World of Artificial Intelligence”, “GITEX Future Stars”, and “Summit The Future of Blockchain, the “Fintech Surge” event, and the “Marketing Minia” marketing conference, with the participation of more than 3,500 exhibitors from more than 140 countries.

His Highness listened to an explanation from the Director General of the Dubai World Trade Center Authority, Hilal Saeed Al Marri, about the major international companies present at the exhibition and are the most prominent in the field of pioneering digital transformation technologies, including: “Microsoft”, “Intel”, “Huawei”, “Dell Technologies” "Avaya", "Cisco", "Ericsson" and "Tim Fiore", where His Highness stopped in the pavilions of a number of them, and was briefed on the latest technological solutions and innovations they offer, which contribute to accelerating the transformation to the digital environment.

His Highness was also keen to visit the pavilions of a number of national companies and institutions participating in the exhibition, where he was briefed on the "Dubai Internet City" pavilion, through which it seeks to strengthen partnership with international technology companies of various sizes and definition, with the elements it provides to create the best environment for this vital sector. .

His Highness stopped at the Etisalat Foundation's pavilion, which is participating this year under the slogan: "Empowering the New Digital Age", as it sheds light through this participation on ways to benefit from technological capabilities in driving the growth rates of the digital economy.

"GITEX Global and the World of Artificial Intelligence" is the only major technology event in the world that will attract during 2021 major technology companies, and review the latest trends and business fields for various sectors, with the participation of a wide range of technology companies, including Amazon Web Services, Hewlett Packard Enterprise », Honeywell and Lenovo, Red Hat, Etisalat, and Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du).
