This weekend, the football tournament Select Cup takes place in Örebro with 250 participating youth teams from all over Sweden.

The organizer, ÖSK Ungdom, has not noticed any particularly large loss of practitioners in football since the pandemic started.

However, handball, floorball and bandy have suffered.

Niklas Aronsson, club manager ÖSK Ungdom

- Football has done best.

The other sports have lost 20%, so it is a challenge to get everyone back and get them to start playing sports again, says Niklas Aronsson, club manager.

Visiting schools

Therefore, the association has decided not to increase any membership and season fees 2021/2022.

It offers more free training and lectures to young people and leaders, as well as free basic training for judges.

During the autumn and spring of 2022, several projects will be started to attract more people to the association, among other things through outreach activities in the schools.
