The Slovak pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai revealed, yesterday, a prototype of a hydrogen-powered sports car, and its cabin is designed in the form of a water drop.

During the launch of the car, in the presence of the Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of the Expo 2020 Dubai office, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heeger said: “I thank the UAE government for the great efforts that have been made in transforming ideas into reality.

The world has lived an exceptional period in light of the (Covid-19) pandemic, so that (Expo 2020) comes and brings the world together again, and it will be an ideal opportunity for countries to present their latest inventions, to continue our path towards the future.”

He added, "The Slovakia pavilion reflects the diversity and beauty of our country, and our presence here is a unique opportunity for the world to see the place Slovakia has reached, its ability to innovate, envision the future of mobility, and contribute to the global goal of sustainability."

The prototype of the futuristic sports car called the MH2, which is the first of its kind in Slovakia, was launched in cooperation with the Matador Group, a leading company in the automotive sector, and the Kosice Technical University.

The car was designed by Slovakian Branislav Muksch, who has been involved in designing all Ferrari models since 2007.

"The car is inspired by water, it is in the shape of a drop, which is the most dynamic shape from a physical point of view," said designer Branislav Moksch.

And being a sports car, dynamism is key.”

“If you look at the car from above, you can see a drop-shaped cabin.

The other parts connected to it, such as wheels and wings, are inspired by the athletes.

The athletes’ body has always been an example of human beauty, so we took inspiration from the athletes’ muscles, being the source of their strength, and the aerodynamic shape of the car, and its color taken from the water, makes it more modern.”

According to the officials of the Slovak pavilion, the hydrogen car concept shows their country's ability to find a formula of cooperation between the private and academic sectors, to culminate in their efforts in creating something innovative, in line with the primary mission of "Expo 2020 Dubai", which is "connecting minds and creating the future".

The pavilion of the Slovak Republic is located in the heart of the mobility area, and reflects the concept of mobility with its three pillars: hydrogen, aviation and space.

The launch of the future hydrogen-powered car confirms Slovakia's ability to innovate, envision the future of mobility, and contribute to the global goal of sustainability.
