A ship believed to be a North Korean fishing boat has floated off the coast of Baengnyeong Island, the northernmost part of the West Sea, and related agencies are conducting a joint investigation.

According to a military official, a 3 ton wooden fishing boat ran aground on the northern shore of Baengnyeong Island in Incheon around 9 am today (16th).

A military official explained, "It appears that no one was on board, and it is not a military vessel."

The military authorities are presuming that it was a ship that was washed away by the current without its own power from the North, and they are investigating with various possibilities, including its loss, open.
