A pigeon that had been writhing in the middle of a front line was set free in an ingenious rescue operation.

According to the Peruvian daily La Republica and other foreign media on the 11th local time, the Lima police recently received a report from citizens saying, "a pigeon is hanging on the electric wire and has not been able to get out for 12 hours."

Upon arriving at the site, a pigeon was actually tied to a high-voltage power line crossing the street.

The legs were tangled in the thin white thread connected to the electric wires, so no matter how hard they struggled, there was no sign of getting out.

They could easily be rescued by cutting a white thread, but the high-voltage power lines were too dangerous for people to approach, so no one was in a hurry.

The police officer, contemplating, came up with an idea.

We decided to use 'drones', which are generally used for search operations, to rescue pigeons.

Police officers attached a small blade to the drone with tape and blasted it into the sky.

The police officers who precisely piloted the drone succeeded in cutting the white thread with their blades, and the pigeon finally flew freely.

Citizens watching from below waited for the pigeon to sit on a low place, grabbed it, and untangled the thread on its leg.

The pigeon, which had lost energy after being dangling from a power line for a long time, was later sent to a local abandoned animal shelter.

The shelter said it will check the pigeons for health and provide temporary care until they recover.

Netizens who saw the video on SNS at the time said, "I didn't know that the new technology would be used like this", "It's a really clever idea. I applaud the police officers", "The hearts of citizens who sympathize with the pain of pigeons are beautiful", etc. There were various reactions.

This is a 'news pick'.
