The

White House announced on September 20 the future lifting of the inadmissibility

, implemented in early 2020 by Donald Trump, but details were lacking.

The "

beginning of November

" mentioned for three weeks has become a firm date: November 8.

And we now know that the lifting of restrictions will be valid for air and land borders.

The countries of the European Union are concerned, as well as India and Brazil, but also Canada and Mexico.

Another uncertainty is raised: all vaccines against Covid-19 validated by the World Health Organization (WHO) for emergency use will be accepted.

This includes, for example, the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is widely used in the UK, but

not administered in the US

.

Relief for separated families

It will be necessary to provide proof of double vaccination, and a negative test of less than three days.

There are still some questions, including how the evidence of vaccinations will be taken into account, or how it will work for those who, recovered from a coronavirus infection, have

only

had

one injection, as is the practice in France

.

The White House promises quick clarifications.

This is a relief for families and loved ones separated for months, as well as for travelers and tourists.

But also for those who receive and transport them, who suffered economically and demanded a reduction in restrictions.
