Sudan.. Hamdok rejects a request to prove the dissolution of the transitional government

Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok rejected a request from the President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, to dissolve his government consisting of the Forces for Freedom and Change and appoint a new government to replace it.

The head of the Transitional Sovereign Council in Sudan, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and his deputy, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, "Hemedti," held a meeting on Thursday with Hamdok to discuss the political crisis in the country.

The "Sudan Tribune", quoting multiple sources, said that "the president of the Sovereign Council and his deputy asked Hamdok to dissolve his government and replace it with another government that includes political groups planning demonstrations tomorrow, Saturday."

In addition, Al-Burhan asked to freeze the activity of the Empowerment Removal Committee, which has become hostile.

According to the sources, Hamdok rejected these demands, recalling that "the forces of freedom and change have chosen him to lead their government and implement the democratic transition in Sudan."

A splinter group from Freedom and Change is planning demonstrations tomorrow, Saturday, to demand a return to "the founding platform and the expansion of the base of participation in the transitional government."
