October 15, 2021 From today, work is only done by being able to show the green pass. Without green certification, therefore, workers will not be able to enter the office, factory or carry out their business, and will be considered unjustified absent and deprived of their salary, but without any suspension. There is an alert for the announced blockade of the port of Trieste. The prefect warns: 'Unauthorized strike, taking part is a crime'. The Guarantee Authority requests the revocation. But for the promoters, the mobilization is legitimate: 'Ready to discuss only if the government postpones the pass to October 30th'.

Meanwhile, on the eve of the entry into force of the obligation never so many green passes downloaded for three months: they were 860,094, according to the government portal. The day before, Wednesday 13 October, there were about 560,000. The green passes downloaded after vaccination increased, 223,165 (the day before they were 188,924) but above all those post-swab, 632,802, against 360,415 on Wednesday.

Trieste

There are already about a thousand people gathered in front of Gate 4 of the Port of Trieste, the meeting place of the event announced by the Trieste Port Workers Coordination. It is not just a question of dockers, many recognizable by their yellow vests, but also of many who do not operate in the port. Access until now has been allowed but the trucks arriving, perhaps from across the border, are discouraged by the crowd and turn back.

The organizers reiterate that "there will be no blockade", and that "whoever wants to go to work will go to work". But, in fact, the port is not functioning. "Eight hundred workers are outside and a hundred inside, in fact the port is not functioning today". Stefano Puzzer, the leader of the autonomous union that organized the no green pass event at the port of Trieste, says so. "Very few people entered my company, only two people from my company", explains Michele Bussoni, another of the port workers. "That the port is not working can be understood from the stopped cranes and from the fact that some ships have been moved to other ports".

Together with the Trieste dockers there are also workers who come from northern Italy, some from Veneto, Padua, Friuli, even from Milan, explain the organizers of the garrison, according to which there are also vaccinated people who, however, protest against the green pass. The no to blockade had already been decided last night.

The Coordination of the workers of the port of Trieste wanted the largest possible demonstration against the Green pass, but not all the port acronyms followed this line, and even within the CLPT the positions would not be united, so at the end of a difficult day , in the evening had arrived the clarification - confirmed today - of the spokesmen of the Coordination: the block will not be there and the docks will be able to access whoever wants.

In recent days, the autonomous union had rejected the mediation proposed by the government of free tampons paid by companies for those who do not have a green certificate. Trieste is the seventh port in Europe for total cargo handling and the first in Italy with 62 million tons. According to the CLPT, a basic union that represents a third of the 950 employees of the airport, about 40 percent of the 950 workers do not have the Green Pass. The Strike Guarantee Commission judged the strike "illegitimate" and, as such, the prefect Valerio Valerio said that it constitutes a crime against those who participate.

Genoa

A garrison of workers stopping port operations at the Ethiopia crossing, in the port of Genoa. At the moment the airport's operations are nil. At the terminal no particular problem. Outside the building that houses the offices, the garrison of workers without green pass remains while about fifty camalli, who were stationed in front of the gates this morning, entered. The initiative was decided because it was not possible to obtain free tampons for everyone.

Venice

The workers of the lagoon seaport all showed up for work. "It is a normal day - confirms to ANSA Mauro Piazza, president of the New Company of Port Workers of Venice - with us there are no strikes or blocks at the gates". Of the 180 workers who work in the seaport (120 employees, 30 Chioggia port and 30 external) all, with one exception, are regularly in service.

Naples

At the moment there are no problems related to the introduction of the obligation of a Green pass at the port of Naples. Situation under control in an airport where, as confirmed by the category abbreviations, "the vast majority of workers are vaccinated". At the moment no discomfort and no protest.

Turin

"Only in this country you have to pay to work, I have been here for thirty-two years and this morning I cannot enter because I am not vaccinated, they are depriving us of our freedom". Speaking is a worker of the Fiat Avio of Rivalta Torinese, who this morning at dawn, together with about a hundred people, found himself in front of door 10 of the aerospace plant. Next to him Roberto, an employee in a local food company, who joined the protest. "I have three children and I need to work, but I will not give in to the vaccine or the swab, real blackmail". Enrico also opposes the swab "put the salivary ones, I don't want to ruin my nose. Today we cannot enter because we have no green pass. The company has signaled our absence, we do not risk the job but we are not paid".Other principals - let the unions know - were announced at Pirelli in Settimo Torinese and at Iveco in via Puglia.

"Being here at six in the morning is a success, unfortunately there are various trade union representatives who are not protecting the workers" said Marco Liccione, leader of the no green pass movement "Variante Torinese". The protesters posted a poster bearing the words "Work is a right, free tampons", reaffirming their desire not to be vaccinated against Covid-19. "Here among us there are also vaccinated people - adds Liccione - but we no longer believe in this government. The citizens are exasperated, violence is never justified but we really can't take it anymore. They have touched the foundations, article 1 of the Constitution, forgetting that people survive with work ".

Strike at the Electrolux in Susegana

The internal union representation of Electrolux's Susegana (Treviso) plant responded with a strike this morning at the start of the mandatory green pass for workers. The share of the unvaccinated among the 1,100 direct employees in the plant is 20%. The participation in the strike, in the first shift, which began at 5, according to the RSU itself, was such as to allow the activation of only one production line out of the 4 total. Among the participants in the protest there would be a substantial part of the 250 employees with fixed-term contracts.

Taranto

The first day of the compulsory Green Pass at the former Ilva di Taranto, now Acciaierie d'Italia, one of the largest factories in Italy, seems to have started without major problems. Until yesterday evening, the union delegates said that this morning they were in front of the iron and steel industry, the ex Ilva direct workers without Green Pass were about 1050 out of 8200 staff, while in the related-contracting there were still a thousand lacking on a total force of about 3500. There were no major inconveniences at concierge D, the largest of the steel plant. But it must also be considered that the redundancy fund is currently underway for a maximum number of 3500 units and that Friday is also a day with fewer staff at work. The former Ilva employees who communicated in recent days tocompany in possession of the Green Pass and having it loaded on the company access badge, they passed the gatehouse turnstiles without any problem.

Who had to show the certification or the proof of the swab was in line.

The union delegates have already asked this morning that this latter access be improved and streamlined to prevent those with negative tampons from arriving late on their plant or department due to the queue and checks.

Another request made by the delegates to the company is that of providing for a greater number of pharmacies affiliated with the former Ilva - which has borne the costs - for the execution of the swabs to the direct employees of the steel mill.

Currently, only one pharmacy in the Tamburi district of Taranto has an agreement.
