It was at lunchtime on Tuesday that several people called SOS that there was a shooting at Norra Centralgatan in central Gävle.
In a courtyard, the police found an injured man who was taken to hospital.
The prosecutor has previously said that the man did not receive life-threatening injuries.
Later on Tuesday night, a man in his 20s was arrested who was then arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
