It is a "huge relief" for this mother of Toulon (Var), victim of domestic violence and an assassination attempt in December 2018 by her ex-companion.

After three years of fighting, this 44-year-old woman finally won her case with her landlord.

The latter claimed 32,000 euros in unpaid rent from his ex-companion who is still a tenant despite his detention, reports France Bleu Provence on Tuesday.

"Finally see the end of the tunnel"

But this debt has just been canceled. “[The woman] is no longer indebted to our society for anything. The situation is nevertheless sufficiently serious and specific for us to act as quickly as possible, ”says Batigère, the low-cost housing landlord. It is therefore his ex-companion who will have to pay the sum. In March 2018, the Toulonnaise had requested the separation of the lease. But it would not have been registered by the former owner of the accommodation.

The apartment was then bought in 2019 by Batigère but the customer manager of this lessor claims to have found no trace of this request.

“We will obviously catch up with the situation.

The debt of unpaid rents will now rest solely on Mr. ”, indicates the lessor.

For her part, the mother of the family says that this decision will "allow her to finally see the end of the tunnel".
