• Congress The PNV urges Pedro Sánchez to "retouch" the hack to the electricity companies and warns him that failure to do so will jeopardize the future of the Government

  • Newspaper library The Government figures at 2,600 million its hack to the electricity companies to leave the 2021 bill at 600 euros

The third vice president of the Government, Teresa Ribera, will carry out the controversial decree of urgent measures to alleviate the rise in electricity with the argument that it responds to the general interest, prevents the deterioration of domestic economies and protects economic growth. In addition, and although it recognizes that the measures adopted so far have been exceeded, it promises additional measures to stop the rise in prices by reducing the "charges" by 97% and clarifying the timing of the "hack" to the profits of the electricity companies.

Now Ribera announces additional measures to the decree of shock measures that will be approved today.

With this annex the

intends to attract the very suspicious vote of the PNV and, in addition, to try to alleviate what is already proven impossible with the norm that is now validated.

Now the Government limits the maximum rate increase to 4% and promotes forward gas purchases

With these commitments, the vice president hopes to convince the PNV so that the decree of shock measures that is being debated today will be validated with a sufficient majority of votes.

Ribera has emphasized that "no matter how much cheap energy there is in the system, the market sets the price of the most expensive", highlighting the deficiencies of the current energy model, the one that Pedro Sánchez proposes to reform from top to bottom and that the Commission postpones

. "The generation costs do not correspond to the average prices of the system," insisted the minister for whom it is important to minimize the contagion of the price of gas in electricity.

The vice president now admits, given the risk that Congress will not validate her decree and the PNV will move away from its bloc of partners, that the forecasts that the Government made in September are already out of date and the measures proposed to deal with the exorbitant escalation of prices.

Therefore, Sánchez's promise that at the end of this year consumers would verify that their electricity bill is "similar or similar" to the one they paid in 2018 with the discounted CPI remains worthless.
