A 38-year-old man appeared on Tuesday before the court in Dieppe (Seine-Maritime).

He had to answer for sexual assault on his two stepdaughters.

The two sisters were then 11 years old for one and between 3 and 6 years old for the youngest.

During the hearing, the defendant denied everything, as he did throughout the investigation.

However, the facts are there.

The man took advantage of the mother's absence to attack the little girls.

The assaults were repeated, in the parental bed, in the living room or even in the attic.

Registered in Fijais

"It's nonsense," the thirty-something has continued to assure.

His criminal record, however, did not work in his favor with eleven convictions, some for violence and one for sexual assault on his sister, when he was 16 years old.

"It's a mistake I should never have made," he said.

The man was eventually sentenced to three years in prison with a two-year probationary period.

His name was entered in the Fijais, the automated judicial file for perpetrators of sexual or violent offenses.

He will also have to pay 5,000 euros in damages to the 11-year-old victim and 1,000 euros to the mother.
