Affected by the new crown epidemic, Indonesian tourist attractions, including Bali, have banned foreign tourists from entering the country for tourism since August last year, and only foreign tourists who are already in Indonesia are allowed to visit.

The economy of Bali, where tourism is the most important pillar industry, suffered heavy losses as a result. A large number of hotels and shops were closed and a large number of tourism workers were unemployed.

The Indonesian government has planned to restart international tourism on several occasions, but it has failed due to repeated epidemics.

In the past month or so, the Indonesian epidemic has continued to ease, and the government has restarted international tourism in Bali and Riau Islands in order to gradually revive the tourism industry.

Indonesian media quoted the report of the country’s Ocean and Investment Coordinating Minister Luhut that from the 14th, China, India, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Hungary, Visitors from 19 countries including Liechtenstein, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait directly enter Bali and Riau Islands for tourism.

The Indonesian government stipulates that inbound passengers must complete the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination for 14 days; they must purchase medical insurance with a value of not less than 100,000 U.S. dollars; they must be quarantined at a designated hotel for 5 days at their own expense after entering the country.

Travel can only be carried out after passing the new coronavirus test.

On the same day, the Indonesian government announced that the mandatory quarantine period for inbound passengers would be shortened from 8 days and 7 nights to 5 days and 4 nights. This rule applies to all people who enter the country through sea, land and air channels, including Indonesian citizens.

Indonesian officials reported on the afternoon of the 14th that in the past 24 hours, there were 1,053 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in the country, and a total of 4,320,099 confirmed cases; 37 new deaths and a total of 142,848 deaths.

Among them, there were 42 new confirmed cases and 2 new deaths in Bali.
