The recommendations will soon change for you who have taken both vaccine doses and are thus fully vaccinated, or for you who have had covid-19 in the past six months.

If you have symptoms, you no longer need to be tested for the virus.

However, the recommendation to stay at home in case of symptoms persists, says Karin Tegmark Wisell, assistant state epidemiologist at the Swedish Public Health Agency.

The same recommendations apply to children under six years of age.

Asymptomatic for work

To return to school, preschool, activities and work, you must have been fever-free in the last 24 hours.

Although some respiratory symptoms may persist, you should feel healthy and recovered.

- For most people, this means that you are at home for at least a couple of days, but often up to a week.

But testing for covid-19 is then not recommended for this group, says Karin Tegmark Wisell.

Continued testing for the unvaccinated

Regarding the unvaccinated group, the recommendation looks different.

- They should also stay at home in case of symptoms of respiratory infection, but they should test for covid-19.

To return to regular activities, it is required that you have a negative test result, but you must, just like the other groups, have been fever-free in the last 24 hours and felt healthy.
