A fire broke out on Wednesday in a car garage located in Beaune-la-Rolande (Loiret).

The incident, which occurred around noon, did not cause any injuries but destroyed a large part of the building, reports

La République du Center

.

The flames also destroyed no less than 17 vintage cars and 8 classic vehicles stored in this 1,200 m² garage.

About thirty firefighters from Loiret were mobilized to control the fire.

An open gendarmerie investigation

On the spot, the firefighters discovered a gas cylinder and an oil tank in flames.

They managed to contain the blaze, which was largely under control by 2 p.m.

A large part of the garage was destroyed but the administrative part could be saved.

We still do not know the precise causes of this outbreak of fire, adds France Bleu Orléans.

An investigation was opened and entrusted to the gendarmerie, as well as to a firefighter investigator, at the request of the Orléans prosecutor's office.
