In the past few days, the typhoon "Compasses" hit the Philippines, bringing torrential rains, causing mudslides and flooding villages and towns.

The Philippine authorities said on the 12th that the "compass" caused at least 11 deaths and 7 missing, and more than 6,500 people had to be evacuated.

  According to the National Disaster Response Center of the Philippines, a mudslide occurred in the inland mountainous province of Benguet, killing 6 people and two missing; 1 person in the coastal province of Cagayan drowned.

Two villages and towns on Palawan Island in the west were hit by floods. Four people are known to have lost their lives and five others lost contact.
