“With virtually equal competitors like Russia, Biden’s campaign harsh language has been replaced by his administration’s desperate diplomatic rhetoric,” McConnell said, accusing Moscow of “manipulating energy markets” and “online malice.”

The politician mentioned several other countries that “disregard the so-called rules-based international order” - China, Iran and North Korea.

“Most importantly, the administration’s empty rhetoric does nothing to contain the growing threat from communist China,” he stressed.

The senator said the Biden administration's proposed budget "does not meet at all" the need for the United States to seriously compete with China and Russia.

According to him, representatives of the Democratic Party want to spend trillions of dollars on "socialist aspirations" within the country, leaving military personnel serving abroad to the mercy of fate.

“Without exaggeration, the Democrats in the Senate have left in limbo for months on end the paramount tool of Congress for influencing defense policy - the historically bipartisan defense budget bill,” added McConnell.

Earlier it was reported that the US House of Representatives approved the country's draft defense budget for 2022.

The document must now be reviewed by the Senate.
