Last winter, Skåne got its first wolf territory in modern times when a male and a female decided to settle on Linderödsåsen.

Since then, it has been unclear whether they have had any puppies or not.

Hellström and his friend, who are both hunters, were on Linderödsåsen on Tuesday night and had shot a fallow deer.

- The landowner has had problems with wild boar so we stayed in the hunting towers for a while extra to see if there would be any, says Magnus Hellström to SVT Nyheter Skåne.

"Indescribable feeling"

And after a while, a bunch of animals appeared - but they were not wild boars.

- I only saw one of them at first and I thought it might be a dog but then I swiped with the thermal camera and saw that it was eight wolves.

The feeling I got there, it is indescribable.

They were sniffing at the deer.

Magnus Hellström then started recording on his thermal camera and started making noises so that the animals would leave.

Seven then ran into the forest.

- The eighth wolf remained and did not want to leave the deer.

Experts have seen the film

Magnus Hellström's friend, who was in a hunting tower further away, went down from his tower and away towards Hellström.

As he approached, the eighth suspect wolf ran away.

- When it came into the forest, it howled and then the other wolves answered.

It was cold on the back, says Magnus Hellström.

- If I had not had my binoculars, I would have gone straight into the wolf pack when I would go down and take my deer.

The County Administrative Board's game manager has been to Magnus Hellström's home and seen the film.

- In the film, it looks like wolves, says Mikael Bengtsson, game manager at the county administrative board.

However, Mikael Bengtsson and his colleagues can not completely confirm that they are wolves because they have not yet visited the place.
