However, within the foreign population the female component decreases for the first time since the 1990s when Italy became a country of immigration.

The most represented citizenship is the Romanian one (23.2%) followed by the Albanian one (8.9%).

The greater attractiveness of the Northern and Central regions towards which migratory flows from both abroad and from within is confirmed.
