The German Society for Allergy and Asthma said that eating eggs causes allergic reactions in some children, so what are they?

Allergic responses are:

  • Skin rash

  • itching

  • Facial swelling and redness

  • Digestion problems such as colic, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and bloating

The association added that in severe cases, the child suffers from circulatory problems, breathing difficulties and swallowing difficulties, in what is known as anaphylactic shock, which poses a threat to life.

To avoid these serious risks, you should consult your doctor as soon as you notice these symptoms to verify that the child is allergic to eggs, through a blood test and skin tests.

The German Society indicated that the only effective treatment for egg allergy is to completely dispense with eggs and products containing them, stressing the need to consult a nutritionist to find healthy alternatives to the important contents of eggs, in order to avoid malnutrition in the child.

Additional information about allergies

Allergy is a medical condition in which a person's immune system reacts to a substance or substances and identifies them as a source of harm or threat.

And then, it produces antibodies that lead to the emergence of allergy symptoms that may sometimes reach "anaphylaxis" that may lead to death.

The immune system works to protect the body from foreign bodies, germs, and viruses that threaten and cause harm.

But in the case of allergies, the immune system recognizes something that is not usually harmful (such as pollen or peanuts) and then reacts to it and produces antibodies against it.

That is, the immune system's response is in response to a false alarm of danger.

It is believed that one type of antibody, IGE, plays a key role in allergies, and this type of antibody interacts with other cells in the body, and these reactions result in allergic symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, rash and swelling In the body and respiratory crisis.

There are several types of allergies, depending on the type of substance that triggers the affected person's immune response.

Heredity and genetics play an important role in a person's susceptibility to developing allergies. If a family member is sensitive to a particular substance, the likelihood that you will have an allergy to it is greater.

The main types of allergies and their symptoms
