Cairo -

For the second day in a row, the mystery of the case of the disappearance of a bus with its passengers after it fell into the Nile River in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, continues.

The rescue teams - despite their numbers doubled - were unable to find any trace of the bus or its passengers.

The ambiguity of the accident and conflicting opinions about it were increased by the lack of nearby surveillance cameras revealing details of what happened, in addition to the conflicting testimonies, which led some to suggest the hypothesis that the accident did not occur in the first place, amid controversy among Egyptians on social media, as they called the car "the ghost." , referring to her disappearance without a trace.

The strange story began last Sunday, as local media - including the state-run Al-Ahram newspaper - reported that river rescue teams are continuing efforts to search for victims of the crash of a "microbus" (a minibus carrying 14 passengers usually) from the top of the coast bridge in the Imbaba neighborhood of Giza Governorate ( west of Cairo).

This story is very strange..I mean, there is not a single camera covering this bridge, amid the flood of cameras in the country, saying what happened to the coast bridge?!

did not happen

The Egyptian media continued its coverage of the mysterious accident for the second day in a row, with the same questions about not finding any trace of the car and its passengers so far.

For his part, the journalist Amr Adib expressed his surprise that no trace of the bus or the passengers had been found so far, despite the great efforts of the Egyptian search services over two days, he said.

Amr Adib quoted one of the divers as saying that the accident was "Fankoush" (not true), as evidenced by the failure to inform the owners of the car about its absence so far, or to inform the relatives of the passengers about their disappearance.

fabricated incident

The Egyptian diver Hisham Al-Shobaki said that the incident was "fabricated and baseless," calling for all legal measures to be taken against the citizen, who raised the rumor through the means of communication, after exploiting it from "the platforms hostile to Egypt in its favor," as he described it.

Al-Shobaki confirmed - during an intervention with the "Citizen" program, on "Al-Hadath Al-Youm" channel yesterday evening, Monday - that the divers disembarked in the area of the Sahel Bridge accident, but no trace of the car was found, adding that it cannot travel with water more than 100 meters.

Local newspapers quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the iron fence at the top of the bridge was broken before the accident, although witnesses differed as to the reason for that.

weird body

For his part, the managing editor of the Egyptian Al-Watan newspaper, Sami Abdel-Radi, revealed new details related to the accident, including a video clip of one of the surveillance cameras far from the accident, during which it appears that a "white object" fell into the Nile waters, suspected of being a car at the same time as the accident was reported.

Abdel-Radi confirmed - in a telephone interview with the "A Last Word" program broadcast on the "ON" channel - the presence of 3 eyewitnesses to the accident, in addition to the fall of the bridge wall, which confirms that something fell into the Nile River.

The lack of surveillance cameras on the bridges prompted a member of the Transport and Communications Committee in the House of Representatives, Muhammad Abdullah Zain Al-Din, to demand the Ministry of Transport that the development plan include means to tighten control and follow-up closely to prevent a recurrence of what happened in the coastal bridge.

During press statements, Zein El-Din explained that among the development processes that roads and bridges must witness is surveillance by cameras, to monitor any abuses or imbalances that would affect the lives of citizens, he said.

No absences reported

A number of drivers working on the lines passing through the itinerary of the accident said that there was no disappearance of any bus or driver, as they did not witness the absence of any of the drivers or the disappearance of any car at the passenger stations.

Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper also quoted security sources as confirming that a number of fishermen, sellers and drivers at the bottom of the bridge confirmed that a car did not fall into the water.
