In Seine-et-Marne, a teacher was pushed to the ground by a student from Combs-la-Ville.

A scene filmed and broadcast on social networks, which shocked the students and members of the establishment.

Invited from Europe Midi, the president of the National Union of high schools and colleges called for privileging structures adapted for certain violent students.

INTERVIEW

A teacher was jostled and knocked down on Friday by one of her students from Jacques Prévert high school, in Combs-la-Ville, in Seine-et-Marne.

In the middle of class, a student indeed decided to leave the class and attacked his teacher, who tried to prevent him from doing so.

A scene filmed and posted on social networks by other students in the class.

A crisis meeting was therefore held this Monday morning and representatives of National Education came to meet the staff and the teacher attacked.

"I didn't think it would go that far"

In the courtyard, the headmaster brought the students together to discuss the drama that took place just before the weekend.

A psychological follow-up will be set up, because in this high school student, some are very shocked by what they have seen on social networks.

This is the case with Raphaël, a student in another class.

"He pushes her and only one student stands up. It shocked me. The other 24 students didn't do anything. I wasn't expecting it, we've had fights here before but I didn't think it would be okay. this far, "he assures us.

An extremely serious event according to Valérie Debuchy, director of the national education services of Seine-et-Marne.

She assures us that two complaints will be filed by the teacher and the principal.

The first against the aggressor, the second against those who broadcast the video.

"We really want there to be no impunity and that we can show that the school of the Republic cannot be destabilized by such intolerable phenomena. I think that the video that was shot is final and shocked far beyond the educational community, ”she explains.

Some "need something other than the classic system"

The attacker was for his part immediately expelled from the school pending his disciplinary council. Major, he is currently repeating his final year and had already had behavioral problems when he was in second. For Jean-Rémi Girard, president of the National Union of High Schools and Colleges (SNCL) and guest of Europe Midi Monday, it is not surprising that the young man has reoffended. "It's quite rare that a very calm student suddenly sends a door in the face of a teacher," he said.

Before arriving there, several measures must be taken by the establishments.

"Usually we go through dialogue, there can be educational committees, punishments given by teachers, sanctions by the head of the school. But at one point, we have some of the students who are unmanageable and very complicated in the community. , so we have to go as far as definitive exclusion from the establishment, "he still assures us.

"There are some students who cannot be taught, it must be recognized, and accept that they need something other than the 'classic' system," continued Jean-Rémi Girard.

The micro-high school solution

According to him, the National Education is indeed faced with a dilemma.

"School is not the place of individuality. It is the place of the collective and we must protect all the students. So we must say stop and favor adapted structures such as micro-high schools for example. The problem is that it costs a lot of money and that a lot of adult supervision is needed for very few students. And on arrival, these are extremely rare structures, "regretted the president of the SNCL.
