Two accidents occurred in Avignon (Vaucluse) during the night from Saturday to Sunday, at the ring road.

It all started with a first incident, around 3 a.m., when a car at full speed violently struck a pole.

The firefighters could only note the death of two young people installed in the front of the vehicle and aged 20.

A third passenger, seriously injured, was extricated.

The second driver takes flight

While the emergency services were trying to come to the aid of the young man in distress, another vehicle crashed into the fire brigade ambulance, throwing it on its side.

A firefighter was injured, as well as three of the occupants of the car causing the accident.

The driver fled.

Police officers from the anti-crime brigade went to the scene to secure the premises.

An investigation was opened and samples were taken from the driver who died in the first car.

In total, 29 firefighters in 13 machines were mobilized on Sunday, specifies France 3 Provence Alpes Côte-d'Azur.
