"Our four parties do not agree on everything, but we are ready to gather support for a more powerful policy," write the legal policy spokespersons Johan Forssell (M), Adam Marttinen (SD), Andreas Carlson (KD) and Johan Pehrson (L ) in the debate article in DN.

According to the right-wing parties, the Social Democrats and the Green Party have failed to stop serious crime.

In light of this, they present 20 joint proposals when it comes to gang crime, which they intend to seek support for in the Riksdag's Justice Committee.

Penalties, visitation zones and more expulsions

In addition to a series of increased penalties, the focus is even tougher on several points.

Among other things, they propose that more crimes should lead to deportation for those who are not Swedish citizens

“In addition, the rules must be tightened especially for non-Swedish citizens who lead serious organized crime.

Therefore, it should be investigated to introduce a possibility to, under certain conditions, just as is already possible in other system-threatening crime, be able to deport these individuals without them having been convicted of a crime. "

Another proposal is to allow anonymous witnesses, something that has been the subject of domestic policy debate for some time.

An investigation recently advised against it, but both police and prosecutors see a need for it.

Other proposals are to give the police the opportunity to establish "visitation zones" to search for illegal weapons and explosives.

It is a proposal that M has pushed for a long time, but which has also had support from other parties.

The right-wing opposition also wants to see a new punishment in the form of a restraining order, according to the Danish model, confiscated status symbols from gang criminals such as watches and cars and investigate a criminalization of being part of criminal gangs.

Listen to family members

In addition to introducing a possibility for "provocative secret interception and data reading against gang criminals", M, SD, KD and M also want to allow messages between relatives to be used as evidence.

"It must be allowed to use messages between family members in criminal investigations, not least to access family-based crime," write the legal policy spokespersons.

At the same time, they want to strengthen parental responsibility by expanding the Parental Support Programs and making demands on parents to participate in the social services' work.

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (S) has previously described the gang crime as "a poison" in society that must be removed.

In 2019, the government presented a 34-point program with proposals for measures against gang crime.

As part of this, support for defectors has recently been strengthened.
