Thousands of demonstrators gathered in Rome on Saturday to express their hostility to

the expansion

of the health pass.

The device, on which the workers 'unions and employers' organizations have agreed, provides for the suspension of the employment contract if the employee is unable to produce proof of vaccination, negative test or recent remission from Covid- 19 at his place of work.

More than three weeks ago, the head of government Mario Draghi announced its extension from October 15 to all workplaces, punishable by a salary suspension for employees refusing to submit to it.

It was already compulsory for all medical and teaching staff.

This Sunday, several members of a group from the neo-fascist movement, Forza Nuova, born in 1997, including officials, were arrested after the devastation of the headquarters of Italy's main trade union confederation.

According to the country's media, twelve people were arrested, including Roberto Fiore, national secretary of Forza Nuova and Giuliano Castellino, responsible for this movement in the capital.

Many voices from the center and the left have risen to demand the dissolution of Forza Nuova, which could very quickly be the subject of an urgent motion in Parliament to challenge the government.

CGIL leader Maurizio Landini, speaking in front of the sacked headquarters of his organization, himself called for dissolution.

He announces an anti-fascist demonstration for next October 16.
