The insured at the Fund can combine the years of service by returning the end-of-service gratuity received, as part of the ongoing efforts to provide distinguished retirement services to citizens.

The Abu Dhabi Pension Fund announced that the insured persons registered with the Fund will be given a three-month period to add their previous services by returning the end-of-service gratuity that was paid to them only without any additional cost, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to exempt the insured from paying the cost Addition of previous years of service based on a percentage of the current salary.

The Fund stressed that the decision comes within the framework of the leadership's vision aimed at facilitating all procedures and easing the burdens on citizens, calling on all insured persons registered with the Fund who wish to combine their previous service periods to take advantage of the period starting from October 17 to January 17, 2022.

Regarding the mechanism for implementing the decision, the Fund indicated that the exemption decision benefits all insured who have previous service periods and have paid an end-of-service gratuity before the date of May 20, 2020, pointing out that the consideration for adding the service will be calculated by refunding the value of the reward received for this period only. That is, the insured will be exempted from paying the difference between the value of the reward they received and the new cost of adding the previous service period that was introduced in Law No. 15 of 2020 - which was issued in May 2020 - to be 26% of the salary subject to deduction.

The Fund stressed that the decision will not include a payment method for adding service periods prior to obtaining state citizenship or services in the private sector outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as there has been no change in them when Law No. 15 of 2020, and a value for the addition will remain in accordance with the mechanisms and conditions. followed in these cases.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund, Jassem Bouataba Al-Zaabi, said that the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to exempt the insured from paying for the inclusion of service on the basis of 26% of the salary subject to deduction, comes within the framework of the leadership's continued support for citizens of all categories, and to facilitate all procedures It is the approach it always follows to ensure the well-being of the Emirati citizen, and to achieve a high level of competitiveness in terms of happiness, stability and decent living.

For his part, the Director General of the Fund, Khalaf Abdullah Rahma Al Hammadi, affirmed that the decision on the deadline came as a continuation of the leadership's approach in its continuous support for citizens, and its endeavor to facilitate all procedures for them.

Al Hammadi stressed the importance of including the insured for the periods of their previous services to preserve their insurance rights and benefit from the grace period provided by the Fund, noting that once the deadline expires, the value of the inclusion will be calculated according to Law No. (15) of 2020, which provides for payment for the inclusion on the basis of 26% of the salary. deductible.

It is noteworthy that Law No. 15 of 2020, which was issued in May 2020 to amend some provisions of Law No. 2 of 2000 regarding civil retirement pensions and benefits for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, had set a value for the insured's inclusion of previous services equivalent to 26% of the salary subject to deduction for this durations.
